Blog Candy!

Yeah, it's here, blog candy! In honour of my one year Blogoversary, I'm giving out goodies! I've had so much fun playing around with my blog even with the limited time I can spend on it. A big Thank You to everyone for following, leaving comments and just stopping by!

Here's how to win the goods:

Become a follower of my blog and you're in! (For those of you who don't have Google accounts, just send me an email (see sidebar) telling me your fave card on my blog.)

Bonus Ballot - Post a link on your blog to my candy and leave a comment here to let me know you did.

The candy contains a 6x6 paper pack, several stamp sets, ink pad, rub-ons, mini album kit and more. I may just have to pop into Michael's to find a few more goodies to go in the candy!

Oh, and the most important part, the deadline. I'm going to leave this up for a couple of weeks to give everyone a chance, so let's make June 30th the draw date.

Rockin' Birthday

I love how this card turned out - isn't it nice when everything just works? I had a commission for a musical card and it was either this guitar or a frog with a banjo, I went with the guitar!
The sketch is from CPS, Practical Scrappers wanted border punches and Heart 2 Heart wanted stars. I couldn't find a colour scheme I liked, so I just grabbed the first paper pack with stars, this one's called "You Rock"
Anyway, tomorrow's Canada Day, so happy Canada Day to all my Canadian friends, and happy Fourth of July to all my American friends, can't wait to kick back in the sunshine this weekend with a drink!

Housewarming cards

Hi everyone,
I'm back early this week, but I had to make a couple of cards for commission. Might as well try a few challenges right?
The colour scheme is from Frosted Designs, the sketch is from Unscripted Sketches (haven't played along there in ages) and Oh Alice was looking for sparkle. I used the new glitter glue from CTMH on the windows, it's like Stickles.
The paper pack is Tinkering from CTMH, but the stamps are from October Afternoon since I felt like colouring.
The second card isn't for any challenges, I just thought it was cute!

A couple more days for the blog candy, there's still time!

So many challenges, so little time!

This week's card is a fun, colourful card - just perfect for the weather outside. I had lots of fun with it, this image is one of my favourites. (you may have seen it before, and will probably see it again!) I found a (new to me) challenge - Penny Black Saturday Challenges, so this frog was perfect. I also found one called Stamping with the Dragon, which is great, cause I love anything to do with Dragons. I think I may have to sit down this weekend and update my sidebar, so are so many buttons and badges for all these challenges!
So here they are:
Sketch - Stamping with the Dragon
Colour scheme - Color Q
Embossed tag - The Cuttlebug Spot
Stickers - Pile it On
Holidays (Summer!) - Penny Black
Stitching (even on a button!) - Fab N Funky
Stuff from around the house - Frosted Designs (unfortunately closed, as I was very proud of myself for using star stickers I swept up off the floor that belonged to my boys!)

Last but not least, don't forget my blog candy, another week to go! See here:

Happy Father's Day!

Hey all, Happy Father's Day! I'm trying to convince my hubby to let me take the kids to a friends so we can scrap while they play, but he wants to spend the day with them! I thought the whole idea of Mother's/Father's Day was a day of peace and quiet, but maybe just me I guess. Well, I don't know what we're doing, but I did make him a card!
Sketch - Sweet Sunday
Colours - Color Q
For the boys, Father's Day, etc - Heart 2 Heart (use scraps, I've got lots of those!), Cards 4 Men, Fab n Funky
Ice Cream colours - Papertake (kind of sorbet like I think?)
Embossing - Cuttlebug Spot (I love the new folders, they're 5 x 7 now!)
Happy Something - Stamp something

Don't forget my blog candy, stop by here:

Sweet Girl

This card is for a friend's little girl - having 2 boys of my own it's always to fun to do "girly" stuff. The sketch is from JUGS, and I did find it a challenge, being off center. I used the large stamp set to offset all the layers, I think it works OK. The colour challenge was Color Chef, and with the exception of adding in a little pink, I managed to stay true to the colours. I also found a new challnge blog called Oh Alice, and their challenge was "muchness". You'll have to go check out their blog to get the full explanation, but I decided my muchness was colouring - I love to colour with my Prismacolours and Gamsol.

Don't forget about my blog candy, it's going on until June 30th. It's right here!

Just a quick addition to this post, as I forgot it before, an entry for Heart 2 Heart, this week's challenge was layouts, so I put this one of my boys up. I think it's one of my favourite photos ever of my 2 boys. All supplies are CTMH.

It's raining Hedgehogs!

Got a big one today, I squeezed in a whole bunch of challenges for these 2 cards, and I've details about the blog candy. What? Blog candy? You mean the stuff you promised us back in February? Yes indeedy, I've been planning a blog candy for awhile and my one year Blogoversary seemed like a good time. So check back tomorrow as I have to dig out the goodies I have stashed and get organized!
On to the cards!

Card number one is a new baby card for a girlfriend. I thought of the rainbow as soon as I saw the CPS sketch, and although it didn't turn out quite like I expected, it's not bad. The colours are from Frosted Designs and the Pink Elephant is looking for bright colours. Do pastels count? They're pretty cheery! The rainbow stamp is CTMH and the cute little hedgehog is Penny Black.

Next up is a card for Father's Day, everything is CTMH except the green pattered paper which is Fancy Pants. Looking at the card now, I should have made the coloured stripes smaller and had the same colour on both ends, as it's a bit unbalanced. The stamp set is a fave, I love these bears. (And PS, the accessories from the Loads of Love set from SU fit this truck perfectly!)
The sketch is a morph of one from Colour Q and Heart 2 Heart, and the colours are Colour Q. Little Red Wagon called for an altered embellishment, which went along with Everything But the Kitchen Sink, who challenge you to use nail polish! Ack! I painted the brads with silver polish - please note that if you're going to use nail polish, you need patience, which I have very little of and I ended up making a big mess cause I couldn't wait for it to dry!
Other challenges were Pile it On - veggies (veggie colours in my case), Just Us Girls - dry embossing and The Cuttlebug Spot - Dads and Grads.
See you tomorrow for the blog candy!
