Material Girl (or boy!)

Say what? No, not that old Madonna song, it's the challenge this week at Fab N Funky! Interpret it as you want, but I went for a fairly literal version - giving this sweet little girl a ribbon dress all dolled up with pearls.
And since it's the beginning of the month, the sponsor this week is Softpencil so play along for your chance to win a super cute digital image!

This weeks challenges:
Sketch - Sweet Sunday
Colours - SPCC
for a little girl - Oh Alice
farewell to summer, summer song - Pile It On, Drunken Stampers
Circles - Frosted designs

Ooh, almost forgot, I actually put my name in a draw for some blog candy, so I'd better crow about it here! Thanh at Yummy Creations is offering some great candy, so head on over and check it out!

Fab N Funky #37 - Recipe Time!

Wow, I can't believe how many beautiful entries there were last week in our Flower Power challenge, I had a blast visiting blogs and checking out all the cards. I think the thing I like the most is how international it is - there's been players from the US, Britain, Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Thailand and more. Bloggers from around the world, sharing their work - I'm sure there's a cure for World peace there somewhere, maybe we just need to open more craft stores!
Allright, enough rhapsodizing, this week's challenge at Fab N Funky is a recipe:

3 papers

2 embellishments

1 image

Easy Peasy, right? Oh, I almost forgot, this week's sponsor is Doodle Dragon Designs (Ihave a ton of Doodle Dragon stuff, I'm a sucker for Dragons!) and there's a cute digi image for one lucky player! So let's see what you can do with this recipe!

This is my second attempt at a card, apparently Doodle Dragon images don't play well with 'elegant' paper and I just couldn't make the card work. So tonight, I pulled out some fun, playful new papers from CTMH called Hooligan and went to town. Hope you like it!

Thanks for a neighbour

At first glance, this doesn't look like a typical thank you card - after all, it doesn't say thanks anywhere on the front. But I was trying to be cute, so the inside reads "that means Thanks in Dog!" Fun huh? I hope so, as it's for the neighbour who picked up our mail for us last week while we were away.
The paper is the new Echo park "summertime" line and the stamps are from There She Goes, a company I overlooked in the past. (crazy, I know!) Needless to say, I've had a change of heart and I love them!
Here's today's challenges:
Sketch - Dutch Dare (they're having a DT call!!)
colours - Color Q (little late for this one too, I hate it when I lose stuff!)
Buttons & Butterflies - Crafty catz (a little late, but I couldn't find my card reader last night!)
Animals - By the Cute and Girly

Flower power

This weeks challenge over at Fab N Funky is Flowers, so let's see what lovely, flowery creations you can come up with!
The challenge this week is inspired by our wonderful sponsor Craftbrulee, who has a shop full of beautiful embellies. One lucky player is going to win a great prize pack from Crafbrulee, so get crafting!

I've been wanting to try these rolled flowers for awhile, so I hunted up a tutorial and away I went. I did cheat a bit and lifted a layout from Papercrafts magazine, I was looking for the perfect way to showcase these flowers and I think this turned out great!
Everything is CTMH except the ribbon, it's a little sneak peek from the upcoming fall Idea book for you!

Ribbon Disaster AKA Fab N Funky #35

Don't look too closely at the ribbon on this card, I has a bit of a mis-adventure with it. I like to tuck the ends under, I don't like frayed edges or ribbon than comes unstuck. So I carefully wrapped the ribbon right round the front of the card. Well, what I thought was the front of the card. Turns out, I wrapped the ribbon round the whole card and I couldn't open the darn thing! I had to take the scissors to it, and although it's covered by a bow on one side, the other side's a little scruffy. Sigh...

Alright, 'nuff whining, on to the challenge! This week's challenge at Fab N Funky is to Use your Favourite Colours. Easy peasy! I went with a nice fall combo, rusty orange and green, perfect for a card for the teacher. Back to school is only a few weeks away (thank goodness!) and I'm planning on being prepared.
The cute dog stamp is from CC Designs and the other images are from a CTMH set called in the month of August.

Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Note: Sorry, forgot to add that I lifted this layout from a Paper Crafts magazine card - I keep a stack on hand for when I need some inspiration. In this case, I loved how the ribbon was threaded through the paper.

Well behaved ribbon

You may be wondering about the ribbon comment, but if you check out my Fab N Funky post for the 11th, you'll find out. Maybe I was less tired, or maybe I was just paying attention, but this ribbon went on a whole lot better!
Still not 100% on this card, I quite like the layout and the clouds, I just think the stamped image needs something. I did put a little Liquid Glass on the chicks, as I don't have any yellow flock.
(another reason to head to Michael's) If you have any suggestions, let me know.
This is all CTMH, except the stamps, they're Elzybells.

Don't mind the fingers in the photo, I made this last night and haven't had a chance to stick it onto a card yet! I got this cute digi stamp for free from Pollycraft, and I think I'm going to have to go buy some more cause these bears are so cute! Too bad I missed last week's Pollycraft challenge, which was weddings!

Spotty and Dotty (Fab N Funky #34)

Hi all, this is going to be super quick as I am super tired - something about the day after a long weekend maybe?
Anyway, this week at Fab N Funky, the Challenge is:

Spotty, dotty and stretchy stripes

And what's dottier than a cute giraffe from Softpencil? I made him into a her with some pink markers, and voila, a baby card for a friend with a baby to be. One lucky player this week will win a voucher from Softpencil, so head on over to the challenge blog and get dotty!
