Stamp Fairy #8

The challenge at Stamp Fairy this week is a good one - Handmade flowers! It's one of those challenges that sounds hard until you start playing around with it. There's so many wonderful tutorials out there, but I stuck with a tried and true - layered flowers with a Nestie die. I love how this sweet Valentine card turned out and I'm loving this new Sweetheart paperpack from CTMH.
Pop on by the challenge site here for all the rules or to check out the DT's fabulous work this week.
(Ugh, and if you've got any lighting tips for me, I'd love to hear them. I whipped up a little lightbox, but I just can't get the lighting right and it's bugging me!)

Some challenges:
Sketch - Clean and Simple
Warm Colours - Stampin for the Weekend
DIY flowers/flowers - Just Us Girls, Crafty Catz, Pear Tree
Hearts - Simply Create
Recipe - Dutch Dare (3 papers, 3 flowers, 3 sparkly things and ribbon)
Love/Valentines - Stampin Celebration, Paper Sundaes

This week's challenge at Fab and Funky is a fun one - Delight in Your Digis! (or for those of a more practical nature - use a digi image on your work!) This should be pretty easy cause there's tons of great images floating around the net, like this super cute image from the Stamping Boutique (who, coincidentally, are sponsoring us this week!) So let's see your Digi's! Don't forget to check out what the rest of the DT are up too, their work is always amazing.
Sketch - Sweet Sunday
Your choice - Paper Cutz
Flowers - Fairy Tale Challenges
Colours - Ok, may have cheated a bit, I'm going for 3 - Do you Stack up? (pink), Stampin Celebration (pink and brown) and EAD designs (pink, brown and green)

Stamp Fairy #7

OK, gotta get back in the groove - I thought January would be a good month to hibernate, make cards and blog surf but darn it all, life keeps getting in the way! We're having our oldest son assessed for learning disorders/ADD, my husband's aunt is very ill, I went to visit a friend and their new baby and I'm buried in last minute planning for my up-coming retreat. So I do apologize for the tumbleweeds blowing around my blog the last week or two!
And what better way to get over it than to make a fun card with a cute penguin? I just love penguins and this little guy from Stamp Fairy is adorable. I went with a snowball theme seeming as the challenge this week is:
Going around in circles
Dots/Stripes - The Crazy Challenge
Bling - by the Cute and Girly
Cute Somethings - Stamp Something
Snow or Ice - Fun with Shapes
Use punches - Simply Create
Your Choice - Paper Cutz

It's a zoo out there!

Birds are animal right? Or close enough? Hee hee, I couldn't decide which Robyn's Fetish image to use, so I finally picked the cute bird. This week's challenge at Fab N Funky is Animal Magic. I went with a fun birthday card for a friend's little girl, I hope she likes it.
Don't forget to check out the rest of the DT's creations and wish a Happy Birthday to Lindsay!

I lost the piece of paper with all my challenges on, will try and add them tomorrow!

Stamp Fairy #6

Oh, bad me, should have got this posted last night, but I've been feeling really rough. Eldest boy woofed his cookies Friday night, bleh. (something always happens when Daddy's away) All in all not a grand weekend!
I did manage to make card though and had fun doing a little paper piecing, which, coincidently is this week's theme at Stamp Fairy. Not so sure about the background stitching, I was playing around with my new Sew-Easy roller thing-a-ma-bobby. It's pretty neat, but I need to work on those corners. Next up, a zig zag head, that'll be good. (One caveat, I blunted the tips rolling it on a self healing mat, till the lightbulb went on and I flipped it over to use the soft, squishy side on the back. Wish they'd have mentioned that on the package!)
Don't forget to check out what the rest of the Stamp Fairy DT are up too!
Sketch - Card Patterns
Anything Goes - Stamp Something
Colours - J.U.G.S (close enough, I hope)
Stitching - Dutch Dare
Thanks - Crafty Catz, Crazy 4 Challenges
Die cut's - Stampin B's
Old and New - Crafty Ann's (old paper, new digis)
monochromatic - Cute Card Thursday (not quite, but close!)

Fab N Funky #55

Whew, this card took me awhile. Don't know if it was the mojo or the paper or whatever that wasn't working, but it seems that lately, it takes me 2 or 3 tries to come up with something I'm happy with. I used some shaped paper as the background on this one, and I really struggled with the "off center" balance of this card. (And I just realized I forgot the bling on his crown, ack! Just pretend his crown is sparkly and gold, ok?) I did have some totally cute images from our sponsor this week - Pink Petticoat, just love this little lion.
This week's Fab N Funky challenge is a little different, we want to see some warm and toasty colours. Think sunshine, crackling fires and cozy sweaters and you'll be on the right track.

Challenges entered
Buttons - Do You Stack Up
Animals - The Crazy Challenge
Use twine - Wee Memories
New things - Pollycraft, Cupcake Craft (cute new digi stamps)
Circles - Paper Sundaes, Pear Tree (buttons are circles!)
Out with the old - Cute card Thursday (old paper)
Ribbons and bows - If the Shoe Fits

Stamp Fairy challenge #5

Hi all, it's a brand new week and a brand new challenge over at Stamp Fairy! Hope you all enjoyed hopping around last week to see the colourful creations, and thanks for all the sweet comments everyone left me. This weeks challenge at Stamp Fairy is another fun one -

Layers and Buttons

Layers are easy for me, button not so much. I always struggle with embellishments, how many, where to put them, what kid, ugh. I think this came out pretty good, I left it clean and graphic. I love the little "sweet pea" baby image from Stamp Fairy, it's so cute! I had fun paper piecing it, I wanted my baby to match my DP.

I entered a few challenges this week:
Use Digis - Stamp Something
Out with the old - Cute Card Thursday (some SU paper I've had for awhile)
Sketch - Card Patterns
Colour inspiration - Raise the Bar
Use Buttons - Do You Stack Up? (brand new challenge blog, check it out)

Celebration - Crazy 4 challenges (it's a birthday card, I just have to stamp it on the inside)
Bling - By the Cute and Girly
New stuff/New Year/New! - Pile It On, The Crazy Challenge, Paper Sundaes, Drunken Stampers, 4 Crafty Chicks (Brand new paper pack, brand new stamps, what's not to love about a New Year?)

The layout below is one I did while playing with my new goodies, it uses the same new Wings paper pack from CTMH. Just for fun, I'm going to add this post to Tresa Black's Linky party at Fabulously Artsy - she is an amazing artist, and I love to lurk around her blog and see what she's up too! (Sorry for the atrocious picture, I made a fancy light box, but it's not big enough for a layout - will have to work on that!)
