Shabby Chic gives me the shivers!

So, you've probably heard me grumbling about some tough challenges lately - and yes, I know you've probably had enough of the grumbling. But this challenge at Fab N Funky this week:

Shabby Chic

This is the mother of all challenges for me. I have come to the realization that I can't do shabby chic, my brain just does not work that way. I like things lined up nice and neat and agonize over every embellishment placement. Shabby chic is...not those things!
I ended up lifting a sketch from a card in a magazine - I hope there's enough lace and distressing to make it count. Strangely enough, I did like how it turned out which really surprised me!

Mother's Day - Pear Tree
Flowers for Mom - Cupcake Craft
No markers - There She Goes (I used a blender pen, not sure if that counts!)
Use Kraft - The Spotted Chick
Recipe - Catered Crop (pearls, buttons, ribbons + flowers, diecuts)
Flowers - The Kraft Journal

A Photo Inspired Challenge

Fun and games over here at Stamp Fairy, this week's challenge is an inspiration challenge:

It reminded me right away of this Splendor paper pack from CTMH, with it's strong florals and Spring colours. Coloured up a new Lenny stamp (find him here) and voila, a happy card for someone. Not sure who yet, but I'll figure that out!

A few challenges:
Spring - Stamp Something
Celebrate - Dutch Dare
Sketch - Clean and Simple
Use stamps, Do it yourself - Simply Create
Tic Tac Toe - Paper Variety (stamp, card, scallop)

Fold away!

Whew, there's been some tough challenges lately, and this was another one. Or at least, it was in my head! Once I googled around and found a template, it turns out it wasn't so bad after all. Thank goodness for all you seriously crafty types out there who figure this stuff all out!
You can make your folded creations as simple or as complex as you like - mine's on the simple side as the mojo was seriously lacking last night. So join us at Fab N Funky and try your hand at some:

Fancy Folds (or as we put it at FNF, "Do it more than once" hee hee!)

Oh, PS, the cute image and sentiment are from one of our sponsors this week, Pink Petticoat, be sure to check them out!

Feeling Sketchy

Another great sketch this week at Stamp Fairy, although I ended up changing it slightly as it was very close to another sketch I used last week. It's all good though, different papers and a different image equals a different card!
Here's the sketch:

I used some fun Twitterpated paper from CTMH and this cute Patsy April Showers image, found here. There's so many great images coming out all the time, I can't wait to get my hands on some of these cuties - bears and cupcakes, yummy!

Only one challenge today, as I actually had this done ahead of time (I know, don't fall over in shock!)
Your choice - Paper Cutz

Just a little late...

Just a little, cause by the time I got my card made and photographed last night, it was all I could do to post it to Fab N Funky. A good night's sleep cures all ills though (or at least a lot of them!) so here I am. The challenge at Fab N Funky this week, in honour of St.Paddy's Day is:

Now, a sympathy card may not be the first thing you think of when you're talking St.Pat's, but the card is a commission for a friend and this lovely paper from CTMH seemed to fit the bill. Yes, I am aware that this is the second time in a week I've used that Nestie, it just worked!

A few challenges:
Green, yellow and white - Stampin with the Dragon
Sketch - CPS
Monochrome green - Critter Sketch
Simple - Paper Sundaes (it's not one layers, but it's pretty clean and simple!)

Fun in the kitchen

Busy week, getting ready for March Break next week and all the usual stuff that goes along with work, school and life in general. Managed to squeeze in a card, colored with my new Copics, yea! I did find it hard to shade such a tiny image, but practice makes perfect right? This is for a friend's birthday, she just bought an old house, so I thought this was apropos!
Lovely Ladies - The Crazy Challenge
Colours - Color Q
Anything Goes - Craft Your Passion
Kraft - There She Goes, The Spotted Chick (I'm on a kraft kick lately, love it!)

This little cutie is my girlfriend's daughter, I hope she doesn't mind me posting her! It's an adorable photo, and I used it for the title page of the album I'm making for her. This layout is just to let the photo shine.

Girly Girl!

Yea, how fun is the challenge this week at Fab N Funky? I love pink and frilly, but having 2 boys means a lot of blue (and to be honest, brown in the form of dirt) in my house. I went all out pink on this one, pink ribbon, pink paper, pink monster, pink everything! (This cutie is from our sponsor Pink Cat, I love their images and have been eyeballing them for ages!) So let's see your:

Stamp Fairy #13

Something a little different this week, Gerda has done up a sketch for this week's Stamp Fairy challenge.

I like this sketch, and although I altered it slightly, I stayed pretty true to it. I just had to pull out this cute little monkey, I haven't used him yet and he's just so sweet. There's a ton of "spring" challenges going on right now, so I picked out some fresh, spring colours and made a card for one of my little monkeys! (I know, monkey's don't really scream spring, I hope the bright colours will though!)
Visit the DT's blogs to see what they did with the sketch, and then get crafty! If you don't have any Stamp Fairy images to use, just head over to the store here. (and there's freebies there too!)

I entered a bunch of challenges:
Use a digi - Stamp Something
Spring - Cute Card Thursday, Stampin for the Weekend, Crafty Calender Challenge
Who's in the zoo? - Dutch Dare (yup, monkeys are definitely in the zoo!)
Happy Birthday - Fun With Shapes, Crafty Anne

Surprise, surprise!

Don't fall over in shock when you see this post, yes, I am posting outside of my regular DT posts! Couple reasons-
1. Much as I'm lovin' digi stamps, sometimes it's nice to get your fingers dirty and stamp!
2. Planning to try and add a few layouts to the blog (which was my original plan when I started this whole thing
3. I was commissioned to make a card for someone and it would be a shame not to enter a few challenges!

The card is for a friend at work, it's an engagement card. Unfortunately, I discovered that I have even less 'happy engagement' stamps than I do sympathy stamps - precisely zero! I went with a pretty congrats seal that's new from CTMH, I just got it. Overall, I love the card, I'm just not sure about the bling. Apparently, dollar store stuff is much lower quality than the expensive scrapbook store stuff (who would've thunk it?) and I found they didn't want to co-operate with me.
Sketch - Card Patterns (damn, that was last week's sketch!)
Use Flowers - Simply Create

The layout was a fun one, I found a fun layout challenge blog and this week's challenge was a layout. I'm just finishing up this years Halloween photos, and also just realizing I didn't put the 'or' between the trick and treat in my title! Oh well, it's a fun layout I'll just have to remember to fix it before it goes in the album!
Sketch - Lasting Memories

Lastly, I just finished a Copic course on hair/skin/clothes at a local art store and I'm very excited as things are starting to make sense and starting to look pretty good! Hopefully, I'll be getting some colouring posted soon, I just need a printer so I can print my digi images on good paper! Check out my instructor Danielle's blog here, she's part of the Scrapbox Giveaway going on right now!
