More lace and Pearls

Geez, lace and pearls again!  Since I did such a CAS take on it last week, I decided to go a little more traditional here for this week's Paper Sundaes card, with a sweet LOTV image and some lace doilies.  Still clean, but not quite so simple.  I really love the little flags, that's a MFT die - so fun!  Maybe this lace and pearls thing is growing on me...hee hee!

Off to make more Mother's Day cards...

PS - Just a big shout out to all the new followers who have joined my blog over the last few months.  It sure is gratifying to know that there are lovely people out there who want to come back and visit me again!

Challenges:
Sketch - Mojo Monday
Pearls and Lace - Card Crafters Circle
Mother's Day - Addicted to Stamps
The letter B - Catered Crop (banners)
For a special lady - Dream Valley

Momism #13

Whew, 3 Mother's Day cards done and 2 more to go!  A couple on commission, one for my Mum and one for my MIL. This challenge for Pile It On was quite tricky - Mother's Day but NO flowers.  Seriously, what is Mother's day about if not for the flowers?  I decided to go on a snarky tangent (plus it was an excuse to use Stella again) and do a 'Momism' card.  You know, the things you say to your kids over and over and over and....well, you get the point!

Challenges for Emma:
CMC Copic Challenges - Celebrations
Hiding in My Craft Room - Mother's Day
Crafty Catz - Anything Goes
Emergency Crafters - Bold and Bright
Craft Us Crazy - Fave Stamp Company
DL Art - Mother's Day
Dutch Dare - For Mom

Away we go...

Yup, the bunny is back.  And you're going to see more of him, cause I've ordered 3 more stamps and I'm angling to get a couple from the new release too!  The girl at the store asked if I could wait a few weeks and all I could think was "umm, no!".  Yep, I know, it's sad.

So the challenge at Fab N Funky this week was no DP (or no patterned paper to those of us not sure what DP stands for.  Lou, fill me in!)  I had fun making a CAS card featuring one of my fave bunnies - I love the blue/orange combo too!  And as I pointed out on the FNF blog, the strip of scalloped blue paper is Bazzill cardstock - the pre-embossed stuff!

Challenges:
Sketch- Feeling Sketchy (I took some liberties with the sketch, I smooshed my '3 items' together)
Embossing - Crafts and Me
Animals - Creative Belli Blog
The great outdoors - My Mum's Craft Shop
Clean and Simple - Paper Pretties
Animal Antics - Creative Craft Challenges 2
Punches/dies - Deep Ocean (you may have seen the scalloped border on a few (hundred) other cards around here, love it!)

I'm a Sundae Girl!

Woo hoo, I'm a Sundae Girl - I was accepted to be on the DT at Paper Sundaes!  Just a little excited here...
So the first challenge is easy peasy - CUTE!  And one of my fave digi stamp companies is our sponsor - Bugaboo!  I picked out this cute piggy stamp and made a fun birthday card.  I used the wood grain paper from MME On the Bright side - I though it suited this little piggy perfectly!

So come and join me at Paper Sundaes, let's see what cuteness you can create!

A few challenges:
Sketch - Deconstructed Sketch
Use a Digi - 2 Sisters
Loaded with Layers -Stamptacular Sunday

Wonky Blogger

Anyone else having fun getting used to the new Blogger interface?  It took me ages to figure out how to get back to the Dashboard, with some cursing and swearing along the way.  I think I've got most of it, but we shall see...I did notice I can't type while my photo is loading.  Hmmm.

I made this card for a co-worker, she wanted a birthday card with some nice spring colours.  I dusted off this fun chocolate stamp and went to town.  Love this paper pack, I've been hoarding it for awhile, and I think the little felt flowers came with.

Challenges:
Sketch - Create with Connie and Mary
Girlie - Card Makin' Mamas (second entry)
Bingo - Chocolate, coffee and Cards (emboss, flowers + ribbon - I don't know if you can see it, but the chocolate tops are embossed!)
Spring colours - Aud Sentiments

Modern lace and pearls

So anyone who knows me (or has been following me for awhile) knows I am not a vintage/shabby chic/whole kitchen sink kind of girl. In fact, I usually have to be dragged kicking and screaming to the craft table for shabby chic challenges. (Ok, slight exaggeration, but I have been known to procrastinate. A lot.)
The challenge at Fab N funky this week - Pearls and Lace, struck a little too close to the vintage theme for my liking so I decided to see if I could make a clean, graphic pearls and lace card instead. And I think it turned out pretty great. I used a lovely doily stamp in some fun, bright colours and added a sentiment in a funky font. Fun!

Challenges -
Sketch - Mojo Monday (I started here, but had to tweak slightly because of the size of the stamp)
Ink It - Craft Room challenge (these are both CTMH stamps)
Anything Goes - Use It Tuesdays (the pearls, even though I have a ton...)
Linky Party - Make It Monday
Anything Goes with a splash of green - Tammy's Scrapping Corner

3D delights

It's an eye popping 3D kind of day here at Pile It On! And while we do have a cute sponsor this week, I actually had this card already made up - I did it for a call to Papercrafts magazine, which sadly (sigh) was not accepted. Must keep reminding myself that a ton of super crafty people also applied, but man is it hard to get published!
This card (after a lot of fiddling around and re-dos) turned out exactly like I planned - the rose is popped up over 3 levels (look close!) and looks so elegant. Then I used some seam binding ribbon, dyed it green and added a sentiment for a simple, CAS card. Love it.

2 Sisters Challenge Blog - Flowers
Crafty Emma's - Paper Piece It
Drunken Stampers - You're a Krafty One
Hiding In my Craft Room - Use scraps
Sweet Stampin' - Girly but No Pink

a CAS kind of day...

So I had some spare time and no immediate DT commitments (although I was accepted for a new DT, I can't tell you which one just yet) so I made a card. This may possible have been the fastest card I've done in awhile!
This is for the challenge at CAS-ual Fridays to use opposites (colours), so I chose teal and orange. I also used the sketch from Clean and Simple, I'm in a super CAS mood right now. I even stuck with the butterflies from the sketch because a)they're pretty and b)I don't have that many shaped punches! The photo did turn out a bit orangy, DH just put up new bulbs where I take my pics and the colour is definitely off. That is kraft paper!

Edited to add - took out the nasty orange photo as I couldn't stand it. I will have to figure out how to correct the orange cast cause I can't always take photos during the day.

Challenges:
Opposites attract - Cas-ual Fridays
Sketch - Clean and Simple
Kraft - Spotted Chick
Glitter - Do You Stack Up
Embroidery (real or fake!) - Alphabet Challenge
Things with Wings - Totally Papercrafts

4 legged friends

4 legged friends is a somewhat apt theme this week as my Mum has just adopted a new pup. Dad swore up and down he wouldn't have another animal, but Max is now officially a member of the family. Wonder how my old dog (she's 12-1/2) will take to the new puppy?

Anyway, our sponsor at Fab N Funky this week is Lily of the Valley so I dusted off one of these adorable mice stamps. Just love these and am planning to get some more...at least when I have more cash! I let the image be the focus, but I did add some bright ribbon and a big MFT loopy blooms felt flower for a pop of colour. Fun!

Challenges:
Sketch - The Ribbon Carousel
2+ Cute Critters - 365 Cards (yup, think I've got that covered!)
Kraft - Creative Card Crew
Critters - Critter Sketch
Cute Critters - Incy Wincy
Birthday - Love to Create
Use ribbon - There She Goes

More for the boys...

So we're heading off to Grandma's house for the long weekend, so I thought I'd pop before I left. And yes, it's another 'boy' card - I seem to be making a lot of these lately! This image is another cutie from Crafters Companion - I just love this line! The denim paper from MME goes so well for a boy card, and I used a few of my new dies from My Favorite Things. Judging by their new release, I'm going to have to order again soon!

Anyway, have a Happy Easter everyone!

Challenges:
Friendly Critters - Do You Stack Up
Cards with sentiments - Southern Girls
Anything Goes - Just Keep On Creating
Use Your Favourite Tool - Simon Says Stamp (dies, Copics)
4 legged friends - Crafter's Companion
At least 3 items from list - Desert Island Crafters (2, 3, 4, 6 and 9)

Need more...

Need more stamps...need more. So I'm sitting there going through all my stamps waiting for inspiration to strike, and all I can think of is how I need something new. It's not like I don't have enough already, some that have never even seen the light of day. And it's not like I don't have a massive pile of digis, most of which I've never used. The call of new stamps is strong though...ever have that problem?

Today's card is for the Embossing challenge at Fab N Funky. It's not so easy to see, but the solid blue panel is embossed with circles. The paper is MME and the digi is Pink Cat. I think the blue strip should have been wider though...

Challenges:
Sketch - Mojo Monday
Anything Goes - OOzak
Anything Goes - Divas by Design
Anything Goes - Papercraft Star
Dad's birthday/men - Scrapbook Sisters
Happy Birthday - Sir Stampalot

Hey Gnomie

Whew! After a crazy week in which we had super hot weather and then another crazy week with super cold weather, we have settled on some nice spring temps. Don't get me wrong, I love the hot but I'm not raking the grass when it's +25 celcius!

The challenge at Pile It On this week is Make a Scene and when I saw the sketch at Clean and Simple an idea popped into my head. A little gnome in the garden, which screams spring to me after a long winter. While my grass isn't this green yet (and honestly won't ever be!) I have things springing up in my flower beds, yea!

Challenges:
Catch the Bug - Easter/Spring
Crafty Calender - Spring Clean
Crafy Emma's Store - No Girls Allowed
Our Creative Corner - How Green is your Spring
Stamp, Scrap and Doodle - Spring
Sweet Stampin' - Spring/Easter
Clean and Simple - Sketch (I went with strips instead of scallops)
Card Mad Fairy's Digi Days - Die cuts/punches (the grass is the loopy blooms die from MFT cut in half, I thought I was being quite creative!)
Crafts 4 Eternity - 3 of a kind (3 strips of grass)
Glitter Geeks - April Fools (funny)
