Make It Crafty Bloghop - Christmas Edition

Hi everyone and welcome to the Christmas edition of the Make It Crafty Blog Hop.  Christmas is coming and that's what we're featuring so jump on in!

If you've arrived from Cyndy's Blog you are on the right track, but don't worry, this is a circular hop so you can start anywhere.  If you get lost, jump on over to Julie's blog for a list of participating consultants.

I wasn't really in the mood for Christmas yet and wasn't sure what to make, but funny enough, my husband inspired this project!  Hubby really wanted a Lindt Advent calendar this year.  They're only $25 bucks he says.  However, my boys wouldn't go for a $1.99 special while Dad got the good stuff and I was darn sure I wasn't spending $75 on chocolate so I decided to make one instead.  This way they can have Lindt some days plus other goodies as well!

To make the box/calendar I used this tutorial here.  I had to adjust the sizes slightly as the drawers were not quite high enough for the loot - I used 6" squares instead of 4".  Then I sewed a piece of page protector to the easel to make a pocket for the Picture my Life White Pines cards which just happened to have a full December countdown on them.  Score!  Then I used White Pines paper and Complements to decorate.  I think it turned out great!

PS - Half the White Pines Cards are 4x6 and half are 3x4.  I thought the smaller cards looked a little lonely in the pocket, so I just backed them with a contrasting 4x6 card.

Thank you so much for following along on our blog hop today, I hope you enjoyed all the fantastic artwork.  Now it's time to head over to Julie's blog and check out her fabulous work.  And be sure to drop in in the New Year for another fun hop!
